A specialist SEN (special educational needs) school based in East London are currently seeking experienced Personal Care Assistants to join their ever-growing team. Though the role itself is as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), a PCA’s transferable skills are highly desirable to the school due to the specific physical needs of the students.
The role can consist of feeding and changing of students, along with personal care. The primary aim of this role is to support the class Teacher and children in the class. Classes consist on 6-10 students with various needs such as Autism and, as previously mentioned, physical disabilities.
The caring, patient and professional nature of a PCA injects an amount of experience and pro-activity that is invaluable to a SEN classroom.
